Welcome to my website!

I am a practicing psychologist in Hoboken, New Jersey with extensive training in mind/body/spirit modalities (see my training here).  I provide psychotherapy services specializing in trauma, anxiety/stress, depression, low self-esteem, and codependency. My style is compassionate, collaborative, creative, practical, and empowering (more about me).

Do you long for a sense of meaning, purpose and contentment in your life?

Have you lost a sense of connection with your True Self, and with what is right and true for you?

Perhaps you are religious but know you are missing something; it isn’t experientially alive for you.

Are you someone who knows you are supposed to love yourself, but you can’ t  figure out how?

If any of these statements ring true for you, I invite you to peruse this website. I am dedicated to assisting those who are searching for answers to these, and similar Soul-oriented questions. For almost 20 years I have been answering people’s questions through a weekly newspaper column entitled “Enlivening Ourselves”, and for almost 30 years I have been assisting people in similar ways through psychotherapy. Perhaps some of my columns (now in blog format) can help you in answering some of your own questions. If you’d like, you can email me your own question (here), and/or sign up (here) to receive future posts.

My orientation is spiritual, practical, mindful, embodied and empowering.  I can help you in navigating life’s difficulties (including fear, anxiety, depression and trauma), and in developing a deeper more enlivened life, the capacity for richer more meaningful relationships with self and others, and the ability to access and to trust the flow of your own life.  As a result, you will be able to experience more health, happiness and contentment in your daily life.

Whether we meet through psychotherapy, life coaching, or through the posts on this website, I am wishing you well on your life journey.

Warmly,

Sallie Norquist, PhD

What is the TRUTH of your Life?

It all starts with embracing who you are and where you are in your life
Perhaps you landed in a family who could not support you in the way you needed
Perhaps trauma or tragedy visited you early on in life
Perhaps you arrived with a body that is not as you would have liked it to be
Perhaps you were unseen or unheard

It is as it is. It is perfect as it is – Life starts by embracing what is

The question is: What will you do with the Life and the circumstances in front of you?
What will you create? What will you create with the whole of your life?
The light and the dark
The ease and the difficulties
The connection and the disconnection

Who are you? And why are you here?
What feeds your heart, gives you sparks of joy, flames of satisfaction, Enlivenment?

Answering this is a process – one that entails deep listening inside
Paying attention with your whole Being, with openness and receptivity

The Truth of your life
is found within

Sallie has written a weekly column for nearly 20 years called “Enlivening Ourselves” for The Hudson Reporter, which publishes 9 local weekly newspapers.
